Speak II 05:48
Breathe Festering lungs Deprived of Oxygen Sycosis Lining your Engorging Lymph nodes Selfish Such intrusive thoughts Disregarded conversations Abusive Elation One less confining relationship Shut off your phone Pretend you're asleep Roll on your side Curled legs to your chest Between the gnawing teeth in my stomach And the knives growing out of my bones I couldn't clean the salt out from your eyes for the rust Silence Just one more sleepless night before we speak

Distant worlds now align, waves of light intertwine Careless thoughts flow and fade, senses fail, unafraid We enter reality with a lack of it Our lives come armed With the false knowledge that this is not our last Our only chance To get things right And that our bodies are simply shells to shed Should we be graced with frigid death Needless worry and doubt Cloud the brilliance Of an unhindered mind But secular independence Is a virtue many cannot stand to bear Complacently sit Place your trust in the abstract And believe it will carry the weight of your wishes Regardless of their subtle selfishness Your life is no more or less significant Than the grass you step on Yet you take pride in how cleanly And uniformly it is mowed Treated as though your higher existence Justifies the subjugation of its growth Imposition to eliminate perceived imperfection Irrationality to hide insecurity Our deconstruction is imminent And we fade into instability

I think about death often It's not that it scares me It simply gives me a deadline By which I better have done all the shit I said I would 'Cause I'm not going to get another opportunity Fall in love, have a kid, support myself and ones I care about Seem to be the standard answers But so far I haven't found a single thing that concerns me Past the present The future is neither bright nor bleak So I'll keep opening doors for a path to keep And when I die I know my friends and family will join together in a chorus Shouting over and over God rest your God rest your God rest your soul
